Everything about this, the most lavish and most expensive production in the 34-year history of East West Players, deserves exclamation punctuation!
Although Sondheim has officially withheld "Follies" from production in anticipation of its Broadway revival, he gladly allowed East West Players to mount this version. And EWP, America's first and foremost showcase for Asian American talent, means business!
It's going to be a magnificent show, friends, and I'm so thrilled to be making my EWP debut in this musical after all these years of being a backstage supporter.
For me to experience the way director Tim Dang, musical director Scott Nagatani and choreographer Reggie Lee are putting it all together...well, I'm totally dazzled.
And the huge cast is just superb. What else could we expect with stars like Amy Hill, Sab Shimono, Freda Foh Shen, Linda Dangcil, Robert Almodovar, Alvin Ing, Emily Kuroda and all those gorgeous showgirls - we're talkin' lots of exclamation marks!!
